Besides Mike Shannon's restaurant, where would one eat before a Cardinal's Baseball game in St. Louis?

Am interested in places walking distance from the Stadium - 5 blocks max, and that is particular to St. Louis. Not interested in chain restaurants.

Try Laclede's Landing. TONS of restaurants, no chains.

I always eat at Houlihan's in Union Station when I am in St LOuis. It's a great restaurant. There is also a pizza place, I think called Imo's that is really good

If you're going during a night game (i.e. dinner), my best bet would be Charlie Gitto's on 6th and chestnut (but there's aways a HUGE wait), Dierdorf's (again, more steaks), or any of the restaurants in the hotels (I'd go with clark st. grill at the Westin).
If you're going to a day game during the week, be sure to hit up Edible Difference (best soups and sandwiches in the city), or Swiftys (best burgers in downtown). Day games on weekends are bad times for restaurants cause none of them are open.

If you like cajun food, go to Broadway Oyster Bar. Yummy and the beer is cold too!
