Concentrate on breathing in and out slowly. Hiccups are caused by spasms in the diaphragm and by concentrating on breathing, you are actually thinking about moving your diaphragm and, for some reason, that usually tends to stop the hiccups after a couple of minutes.

I've had hiccups for hours in the past. What I have learned that gets rid of them every time is to put yourself in a situation that gets you as nervous as possible.
For example, one time I had hiccups for quite a while (this was at a time when I was just learning to drive). So I decided to ask my mother to take me driving, and as I started to hit the steets, my nerves began to kick in. I became very nervous as I was trying to drive, and as a result, my hiccups vanished. This happened in a few other instances as well, where nerves squashed hiccups.

Hold your breath, or maybe glass of water like someone else said. What I know some people do (including me) think of the people that might be thinking of you, and say the name out loud...sometimes it works, and you actually stop hiccuping after you say someone's name. Worked on me a few times, and ALWAYS works on my friend, lol.

JUST "WAIT" meaning wait your hiccups to be start, dont think of anything and just focus on waiting your hiccups. if you still waiting and hiccups won't start it means you are cured. tested 100% works! how does it works? because most of us is just we ignore them while working or playing etch. So we should make an attention to this friendly hiccups.

rub ice on your neck in the front.
You could also try drinking water from the back of the cup. You bend over (over a sink) and drink the water from the opposite side. 10 sips.
You can also try to breathe in 1 second, out 1 second. Then breahe in 2 seconds, out 2 seconds. Then 3, and so on.

You have 2 choices, #1 drink a glass of water upside down, (it works, it takes ur concentration off of your hiccups)or drink a glass of water with a spoon in it. the metal takes concentration off

This sounds crazy, but eat a spoonful of peanut butter. It's the only way I can get rid of them. I think it has to do with the thickness and consistency.

There are two cool ways:
Block your ears with your fingers for a whole minute and try not breathing for as long as you can. Its sets the imbalance right.
Also try drinking water. It usually helps

Concentrate on sucking on a lemon take your time really getting all of the juice, holding your breath the entire time. swallow the juice and relaxing controlling your breathing. Worked for everyone I have told to do it.
I like drink a glass of water slowly and without breathing. I've also heard putting dry sugar on your tongue and swollowing it is also supposed to work.

Just hold your breath and count to 50. After you get to 50 do one big swallow. For me it always works.
Give it a try!
